Good news for taxpayers as the Jodhpur Bench of the Rajasthan High Court, in the interim order of Wednesday (September 24, 2025), the Central Government and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) directed the date (CBDT) up to 31 October, 2025.

The next hearing for this case is 27 October Chatber, 2025.
Bhilwara’s Tax Bar Association President, Chartered Accountant Amit Kumar Sheth, ET Wealthon, said the online Naline said that the Rajasthan High Court has ordered the government to extend the tar deadline.
“It is a great relief for us, because the Rajasthan High Court order has been received before the deadline of the Tax Audit Det Report of September 30, 2025. We hope the government will take quick action after this order and extends the deadline for 31 October, 2025.” .

Rajasthan Tax Bar Association Regional Secretary CA Ashok Kumar Jathalia told ET Wealth that the interim order of Rajasthan HC has been in a joint petition of Bhilwara and Jodhpur Tax Bar Associations.

“Both the tax bar associations filed different applications for the expansion of the due date for the tax audit detection in the Rajasthan High Court. The applications were merged because of our demands. Now as the court order is over, we hope that the CBDT will follow it and extend the deadline.” \
He also confirmed the Jodhpur Tax Bar Association in a tweet that HC has ordered the deadline for the September 30 tax audit report to be extended. Jodhpur Tax Body wrote on Twitter (previously X), “We are happy to inform you that the Honorable Rajasthan High Court has extended the fixed date for filing tax audit deterrent from September 30 to October 31,” Jodhpur Tax Body has written on Twitter.
In his writ petition, the Bhilwara body also published several reasons for the extension of the tar deadline.

Ashok said: “Utilities forms were issued late, and technical obstacles made it difficult to file income tax returns on time. When taxpayers were not required to be audited, from July 31 to September 15 and then 16, we hoped that the deadline will be lifted.”

With the court order already exit, it is now the Central Board of Direct Tax (CBDT) that they take action and comply with the Rajasthan HC court order.
